A Gentle Steam Can Help

Sometimes, when knitting a lace pattern, it helps to pin out your knitting while still on the needle and give it a gentle steam. I set my iron on the cotton setting, maximum steam, and hold it an inch above my knitting while it is pinned to the ironing board and steam it for a few seconds.

For instance...gently steaming this gave me a better idea of how it will block when finished and revealed a wonderful drape.

Another lace project on the needles, hand-spun lace weight for a scarf. I spun this yarn from 8 ounces of BFL top from Two If By Hand. The pattern is A Knitted Veil in Pyrenees Wool.
