Making Progress

It took me 10 days to knit the lace edging on the first side of the Stonington Shawl.....and 5 days to knit the edging on the second side. Does that mean that it will take me 2 1/2 days to knit the next section? I wish! We shall see.....

On to the lace edging!

Forgot to snap a photo of the shawl with all 4 borders finished before I started the edging....oh, well! I am just happy to be on the last leg of this journey.

One more border

I just picked up stitches for the 4th border on my Stonington Shawl. YaHoo! I could have had the 4th border done by now if not for having to frog back several times on the 3rd border to find and fix a mistake in stitch count. Arrgghhhh. Hopefully, I can knit the entire border section today and be ready to start the lace edging tomorrow. I ordered a set of blocking wires yesterday and they should arrive by the time I need them. Don't you just love toys....er....tools?

Bird Watchin

Had lunch at The Boiler Room today and was chatting with Kara when we noticed a little sparrow sitting on the base of a planter outside the front door in the parking lot. It sat there for the longest time, not even moving when one of the regular patrons left to go to his car. We decided the wee bird was just 'hanging out' and enjoying the shade while the temperature continued to climb.....after all, it IS July in Texas....

Resurrecting My Cap Shawl

Two years ago, next month, I started the Cap Shawl from Victorian Lace Today. I got all the way to round 129 and realized there was a mistake in my knitting. Try as I could, I was not able to figure out where the problem was, and so I let it snooze away in the bottom of my knitting basket. I came across it earlier looking for a knitting needle, and.....Voila!

My courage has returned. I frogged back several inches and got everything back on the needles where I know the pattern is correct. I am ready to roll again. By the way, if you happen to be a Ravelry enthusiast, there are tons of examples of the Cap Shawl to view.

Slowly but Surely....

Just finished the first border section on my Concentric Squares Stonington Shawl and picked up stitches for the second border. Now that I got the market bag thing out of my system I can make some progress on this shawl.
