Neck Shaping

One of the things I like about the triangle shawl I just finished is the neck edge. After about three inches I increased by knitting three stitches and then knit in the front and back of the next stitch all across the shawl, making sure I kept my normal side and center increases as usual. I did another increase row a couple of inches further along. I think the increases are out of Folk Shawls by Cheryl Oberle.

If you look carefully at the photo you can see where I began the increase rows. Now that I look at the photo it seems more like four inches before I began the first increase row. The end result is that the shawl rolls toward the front and stays on your shoulders better.
